Building Communities, Bridging Continents, motto of RI for 2010-2011, is already at full speed at Curitiba Oeste, at the same time as the club doesn’t lose sight of the present motto – The Future of Rotary Is in Your Hands.
Oeste takes part in Rotarian social networks worldwide and has hundreds of thousands of contacts with Rotarians, their clubs, districts, friends, partners and families, contributing immensely to strengthening our communities. Oeste’s Facebook page alone has almost 2500 fans.
In addition, in the month of February, a delegation from Oeste will be on official visits to clubs in Paris, Lisbon and Mafra, which will certainly build even more bridges between our continents.
This involvement with people spread across the world has highlighted the need for our club to start a news section written in English in order for clubs abroad to become interested in our projects and enable partnerships and exchange of ideas.
The Club has just received an extremely important and valuable reinforcement. In fact the club brings back one its former and most active members of Rotaract Club de Curitiba Oeste, Karin Müller Tahir, who will contribute voluntarily translating our news articles into English.
Karin, who lives close to Cambridge, in the UK, and is married with two children, got back in touch with the Club through Facebook and offered to translate into English the news articles that the club needs for its website. "It will be a pleasure to help my old club. Just email me the text", says Karin.
In this way Rotary Club de Curitiba Oeste places itself internationally within the context of Rotary International and opens up possibilities of joint projects with other clubs across the world.
