(Bocaiuva do Sul, PR, Brazil, Oct 30, 2009) A partnership between Rotary Club of Curitiba Oeste, Dr Fernanda Rossi and Dr Sandra Oklopcic, provides preventive dental health to the students of the Macieira Rural School. This activity is coordinated by the Rotarian Ranka D. Sandino da Gama.

The first step is focused on dental needs mapping to prioritize their most pressing problems. After that, a plan to start treatments at appropriate specialty will be made.

Curitiba Oeste is working very hard to build the new Macieira Community School, located at Bocaiuva do Sul county.

The Bocaiuva do Sul county is located in the Metropolitan area of the city of Curitiba, the capital city of Paraná state. It has a population of about 10,000 inhabitants.

The Macieira Community School, has at present around 50 students, who share the same classroom even being in different school years and are taught by only one teacher at the same time. Its installations are not suitable for a good quality educational system.

The new Macieria Municipal Rural School, will be built with the help of Rotary Club Curitiba Oeste – District 4730 and the Bocaiuva do Sul town hall. It will be constructed in two phases.

In the first phase, three new classrooms will be built where 120 students will have the chance to be properly seated and taught in two daily shifts. These classrooms will also be used for professional technical courses in the community.

The project for the future school is simple in its layout and building technique, therefore the cost will not be high.
