On May 14th, Rotary Club de Curitiba Oeste sponsored our fourth traditional Shrimp Bobó(1) and Chicken Bobó(2).
Around 100 people attended this special dinner, followed by an evening of entertainment which warmed up a very cold evening.
The Mayor of the county, Lucimeri de Fátima Santos Franco, was present at the event together with Vice-Mayor Antonio Eduardo and the Education Secretary, Silmara Bassetti. The Mayor took the opportunity to highlight the importance of the joint project with Rotary, Rotaract and Interact Club de Curitiba Oeste.
The members of Interact and Rotaract helped in the event by selling and serving drinks. The participation of both groups in the Macieira project has been very important and effective.
All the proceeds of the event will go towards building the new Escola Rural da Macieira (Macieira Rural School) in Bocaiúva do Sul County.
1. Shrimp Bobó – a traditional Brazilian dish from the State of Bahia consisting of stewed shrimp with coconut milk, dende oil and manioc cream.
2. Chicken Bobó – chicken version of the traditional shrimp dish.
